Role
The overall aim of this project is to advance the Middlesex University’s commitment to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals which aligns with the university’s strategy to 2031 under the theme of Sustainability of communities and the environment. The goal of this internship is to initiate the process of creating the Digital Twin model for one of MDX Campus buildings. Looking into Halo datasets and working in collaboration with Environmental Sustainability and Estates teams at MDX, the project aims to create a performance- based Digital Twin for one of the Campus buildings.
Duties and responsibilities
you will be required to support the team in conducting qualitative research, including:
- Desktop research
- Building modeling software
- create a 3D model of the building according to existing drawings
- look into Halo dataset for energy consumption/carbon emission for carbon baselining
- install a set of sensors (to be identified by the project team) capturing real time temperature, moisture, CO2 etc.
- help the team with analysing, presenting the data and writing report
Skills and experience
- Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate program
- Strong CAD/REVIT modeling skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A good level of understanding of UNSDGs and sustainability.
