Description

Role

About the role:

This is a 12-week paid internship opportunity with Device Smart, as part of the WMG Internship Program, with employment opportunities for the right candidate.

This role will requires multiple disciplines including product/mechanical design, software integration, PCB design and microprocessor programming.

You will be working closely with the Device Smart team, gaining first-hand experience with the design and development of the next generation of their light and audio security systems.

2024’s research & development is focussed on a new product with integrated audio. Voice based deterrents have been highly effective in changing behaviour but often rely on control room operators responding to alarms or using pre-recorded looped messages, which tend to be less effective. Leveraging AI capabilities in the cloud, Device Smart believe they can create smart audio messaging using vision Image analysis and Large Language Models to simulate live operator response and effect behavioural change.

The project requires multiple disciplines from mechanical design, software integration, PCB design and microprocessor programming, outsourced engineering resources will be appointed to manage aspects of each of the specialist areas but a broad understanding of the architecture and product development process is necessary for an Intern to be able to oversee this project.
