Unitemps are recruiting for a Test Administrator within the Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment department. The role is to work ASAP and will run until 31 July 2024 part-time, casual hours per week . Payment is set at £18.65 + holiday pay per hour and the role will be HYBRID based.

Test Administrators required for casual work between April and July 2024

IOE is conducting The Student Grouping Study, an investigation comparing outcomes for Mathematics learning for pupils taught in sets and in mixed attainment groups. Included in the results will be pupils’ scores on a post-project Mathematics test.

Between April and July 2024, a number of Test Administrators will be required to visit schools involved in the project to administer the test (GL Assessment Progress Test in Mathematics) to the pupils. There are 107 schools throughout England involved in this important project.

IOE is now recruiting the Test Administrators to administer the test in schools in their local area. We will need Test Administrators based in all parts of England. 

These areas of England are the North West, South West the East, West, South East and Yorkshire.

Duties and responsibilities

  • In order to administer the Mathematics test to all Year 8 pupils, visit at least 10 schools,
  • Ensure pupils independently complete the test. The test will take at most 70 minutes.
  • Collect and record unique pupil identification information and other demographic data to ensure that the correct pupils are tested.
  • Keep the pupil test papers safe and return them to IOE on completion.
  • The school visits should take no longer than 2 hours (not including travel time).
  • The schedule for school visits will be pre-planned but negotiable.

The work is on a casual basis and payment will include travel time and travel expenses.  Payment will be on the basis of £18.65 per hour. Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed. The mileage allowance is 45p per mile.

 

Skills and experience

  • Applicants must be able to provide evidence of having undergone a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check or be willing to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
  • Applicants must have experience of working in or with schools or secondary school-aged children.
  • Applicants must provide evidence of their right to work in the UK by means of their passport and/or visa.
  • Applicants must treat all information about the schools and their pupils as confidential.
  • Applicants must have their own car, valid driving licence and relevant car insurance in order to carry out the testing in their allocated schools. Public transport may be used for schools in the Greater London area, where appropriate.
