Role
Working as part of a team you will support the Senior Management Team in ensuring services exceed quality and professional standards at all times. This role will be responsible for mentoring, managing and training a team of learning and senior support workers , to provide support to our autistic young adults in the attainment of knowledge and skills that will enhance their wellbeing, independence and social inclusion.

 
£1000 joining bonus (£500 on joining and £500 on completion of probation)

Duties and responsibilities

  • Collaborating with the ABA Consultant to review and implement changes to learner programs and behavior support plans.
  • Leading learner and staff reviews, implementing necessary actions.
  • Creating, updating, and providing care and support through individual learning plans, personal plans, and curriculum folders.
  • Writing and updating Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA).
  • Supporting learners in participating in community activities and maintaining personal and environmental hygiene.
  • Collecting, recording, and analyzing data on learning programs and behavior guidelines.
  • Administering medication once trained, in accordance with company policies.
  • Updating learners' personal risk assessments as required.
  • Developing knowledge of autism spectrum disorders through relevant training.
  • Running and minuting weekly team meetings.
  • Monitoring key workers' tasks related to learner day files and data collection accuracy.
  • Supporting Training & Development Consultant with induction and in-situ training.
  • Conducting assessments to evaluate learners' and staff performance and progress.
  • Line managing designated mentees, marking their study, and setting related targets.
  • Promoting and ensuring the good reputation of the Jigsaw Trust and its individual divisions.
  • Undertaking any other tasks reasonably expected in relation to the role.

Skills and experience

  • Either a Masters in Applied Behaviour Analysis or certified as CABAS Teacher 1 rank is essential (If not certified CABAS Teacher I rank, a commitment to completing Teaching Assistant rank during probationary period and to completion of CABAS Teacher I rank within 18 months of date of employment will be required)
  • Experience of Delivering ABA programmes is essential with additional experience in designing or developing ABA programmes desirable
  • Proven experience of working with autistic adults within an educational or social care setting
  • Line management experience including delivering training and mentoring and managing staff
  • Experience of working with behaviours that challenge and providing personal care when required
  • Ability to work independently 1:1 out in the community 
  • Completed Care Certificate (or commitment to complete within probationary period)
