Role
Unitemps are supporting a Stoke-on-Trent based alternate education provider to find patient, highly driven Science/Biology (Double or Triple Award) Tutor to join their friendly team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students from KS3 - KS4, who need additional educational and emotional support, are preparing for their GCSEs; or, who want to have a solid foundation for further education.
f you are a student or recent graduate of Staffordshire University this could be the perfect role for you.
You will be responsible for delivering you will be responsible for delivering flexible hours per week (Mon - Thurs), to small groups or 1-2-1 teaching. You must be proficient in ICT and be comfortable working with students from year 8 to year 11.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students who need additional educational and emotional support who want to have a solid foundation for further education.

Duties and responsibilities
Overall Responsibilities
- Encourage high standards in all aspects of tutoring life, particularly in student progress.
- Contribute to the effective and efficient running of the classes.
- Promote a learning culture which is positive, purposeful, and professional.
- Support and motivate students.
- Encourage consultation, review, and improvement.
- Be punctual to lessons
- Promote high standards of organisation
Skills and experience
- Proficient in planning and preparing well-structured, clearly presented lessons appropriate to the abilities of all students and the syllabus being taught and promote high standards of organisation.
- Able to help students develop High Performance Learning skills in line with values and ethos.
- Ensure that the lessons are a stimulating environment that facilitates learning.
- Ability to generate enthusiasm for the subject being taught and inspire all students to work to their potential.
- Possess the kills to promote high standards of behaviour by encouraging a positive, proactive approach to study and build productive relationships with students.
- Set homework according to policy and pertinent to the student’s ability and wider workload.
Student Progress
- Provide high-quality, accurate, constructive, and targeted information to parents and students.
- Assess, record, and monitor the progress of all students according to guidelines to provide accurate information to parents in a variety of forms, as and when necessary.
- Maintain materials and resources as needed.
