Role
The successful applicant will support data collection and analysis within Medical Research Council funded research project based in the Biostatistics Research Group in the Department of Population Health Sciences. During this Internship you will develop your statistical skills and learn new statistical software packages.

Duties and responsibilities
• Read and review materials on medical statistics
• Learn or develop knowledge of statistical software packages (e.g. R, WinBUGS)
• Support activities within MRC research project
• Present results orally and in writing

Skills and experience
• Must be registered on a relevant undergraduate course in the UK or Republic of Ireland. Whilst mathematics, statistics or data science are preferred subjects, other relevant subjects include: economics, computing, physics, biomedical sciences, psychology
• Effective exchange of work-related information
• Some knowledge of statistics
• Knowledge of basic software packages (MS Word and MS Power Point (or Latex), MS Excel)
• Familiarity with a statistical package such as R or Stata
