Description

Role

We are looking for a flexible, experienced personal assistant to support a young, high functioning man with ASD.

He both works and drives and now needs support with transitioning to independent living in his new home in Daventry.

Duties and responsibilities

• To enable and empower a young person to access and participate in the outside world, both socially and in developing his sporting interests like cycling, biking, climbing & sking.

• To gently challenge some of his perceptions of life to help him open up to new experiences, and to reconsider his view of the world and what is possible

• To promote and encourage friendships and independence

• If 9 hours/week worked, some additional help with life admin as part of developing independence

Good organisation and planning skills

A can-do attitude and aptitude to assist the employer with his varied interests

Benefits

You will be paid £11.44 per hour

Holiday pay - 5.6 weeks paid leave ( pro rata of course)

Additional information

Due to the nature of the work, this position is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure. Costs of this will be covered.

We are looking for a flexible personal assistant/ buddy and this role would likely be especially relevant to students in Psychology, Social Work, Medicine, SEN or similar.
