We’re looking for friendly students, with excellent communication skills and a welcoming manner, to join our Clearing team this summer.

Duties and responsibilities
We need help during a busy time for the recruitment and admissions department, when we have a large volume of calls from students who are looking to join University College Birmingham.

We are looking for students, with a strong work ethic, who have a friendly and approachable manner as well as excellent communication skills.
It would also help if you had good computer skills and could learn to use various software packages (training will be given).

Your duties would include (but would not be limited to) the following:

- Answer enquiries from potential students and signpost appropriately

- Offer advice and guidance to applicants including making course offers over the phone, online chat platform and social media

- Make phone calls to prospective students to assist them with their application / enrolment

- Assist with administration of enrolment and updating student details on various internal systems

- Other duties relating to admissions and enrolment

- Providing exceptional customer service across all duties

We need your commitment to work this summer – please do not proceed with your application if you’re not available during the training or the main clearing period (see ‘What are the hours’ section below for full timetable).

What are the hours?

Key dates and hours

13th June 9am- 1pm Selection Day (if successful in application)

8th, 9th, 12th, 13th, 14th August 9am – 5pm Training – attendance mandatory

15th August 8am – 8pm

16th August 8am – 6pm

17th August 8am – 1pm Main clearing period – attendance mandatory

19th August- 24th 9am-5pm

27th August- 30th 9am-5pm Enrolment period – attendance required, if possible

2nd September – 27th September 9am – 5pm Late enrolment period – 10- 20 hours a week, depending on business need and your availability.

Location
University College Birmingham. No remote working.
