You will work 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

The Enquiry and Admissions Assistant will be responsible for providing front-line customer service for applicants and enquirers.

The post-holder will report to the Admissions Manager (Enquiries and Pre-Application Management) and will work with other Admissions colleagues from within the division in order to deliver a first-class customer experience.

Duties and responsibilities
• To provide efficient, professional and accurate enquiry handling service for all enquirers and applicants on a wide range of issues relating to Admissions and the university, including routine and non-routine correspondence.
• To provide excellent customer service to all admissions stakeholders; undertaking duties with meticulous attention to detail and ensuring thorough enquiry data maintenance to facilitate systematic tracking of all enquiries through the admissions process.
• Promote a positive and professional image of the university in all customer interactions.
• To support with the processing of all types of applications and provide support across the division during busy periods.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with university admissions policy and procedures, including data protection.
• Support all aspects of the administrative processing of applications. This will
include inputting and updating admissions records onto DMU admissions
databases; sharing good practice and improving data quality, confirming
offers to applicants via letter and email and maintaining filing systems.
• Develop and maintain a good working relationship with staff across the
University regarding all applications and admissions issues and regularly
liaise with the internal and external stakeholders to ensure applicants and
enquirers receive the best possible service.
• Working with internal stakeholders, support the university in adhering to
relevant policy and statutory requirements around areas such as Disability
Advice and Support, DBS clearance and UK Visas and Immigration.
• Assist with the organisation and delivery of Interview and Open Days and
other recruitment, promotional and registration events.
• Comply with DMU Health and Safety Policy.
• Perform any other duties commensurate with the job grade as reasonably
required from time to time.

Skills and experience
Maths & English qualifications at level 2

Administrative and enquiry handling experience in a busy, customer-focussed, confidential environment

Quality assurance, data entry and maintenance of records with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality

Excellent attention to detail when handling high volumes of work

Ability to prioritise workload to react swiftly and flexibly to changing priorities when working under pressure to tight deadlines

Awareness of data confidentiality, GDPR and the Data Protection Act

Competent IT and database skills
