Job Title: Graduate Software/Full Stack Developer (Internship)
As part of the Staffordshire Digital Innovation Partnerships project, Staffordshire University has entered a partnership with a new tech start-up business SiteVerse who are looking to disrupt the construction sector with their latest innovations. Working alongside an established Health & Safety company, Siteverse are looking to develop a cloud-based digital platform that will significantly enhance end-user compliance with Construction Design & Management (CDM) regulations. The platform will enable construction firms to maintain high levels of safety performance and compliance throughout the construction project lifecycle through real-time monitoring and reporting of status and processes relating to CDM compliance.
As part of the SDIP programme, we are looking for a full-time software developer to create a minimum viable product (MVP) which we can introduce to our partners and ultimately launch into the market. The finished product will need to be secure, written with well-tested code and applications, utilise engaging user interfaces and experiences, and work across a range of devices.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone to get involved in a highly innovative commercial project, with both specialised industry and academic support.
- Develop clean, secure, well-tested code and applications for a cloud-based environment.
- Create engaging front-end user interfaces and experiences.
- Design and implement back-end logic and code, working with a range of technologies as determined.
- Contribute to the creation of technical specifications.
- Monitor the performance of applications through testing and maintenance and undertake corrective measures.
- Assist with user acceptance testing.
- ]Install applications into production environments.
- Contribute to the analysis, documentation, and evaluation of current business processes and identify areas of improvement as needed.
- Produce systems and user documentation.
- Work closely with other staff, such as project managers, graphic artists, UX designers, other developers, business analysts, technical staff, and end-users/clients.
- Investigate and report on technologies relevant to the product development as needed.
- Report on technical development activities and progress.
- Attend project meetings and other events deemed relevant or necessary within the scope of the project.
- Undertake any other duties deemed relevant or necessary within the scope of the project.
- IT/Computing Graduate - computer science background is preferable.
- Software development for secure, resilient web-based applications in cloud environments.
- Experience of either Google or AWS Cloud infrastructure.
- Functional, responsive, dynamic web applications development.
- Software/applications testing.
- User interface and user experience (UI/UX) design and development.
- Database design & implementation and DML/DDL.
- An analytical and structured approach to problem solving using appropriate techniques and tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively with an onsite and remote team.
- Ability to write and present technical reports.
