This is an exciting opportunity for a positive individual with a ‘can do’ attitude to both support and take the lead on project work which underpins the University Services student support journey delivery.  This includes all aspect of student support throughout the student transitions and engagement strategy, through student progression and retention and success.

With the support of the Student Support and Experience team, you will design and facilitate activities which support the spiral induction for new and returning students.  This will include prioritising student access and transition to HE.  You will deliver a series of campaigns, activities and events (e.g. Welcome events, Mental Health campaigns, Wellbeing campaigns), providing targeted additional support of initiatives for promoting transition, resilience, engagement, information and wellbeing embedded within professional service delivery. 

Through undertaking research with the study body the post holder will also help to develop our teams capacity to understand, adapt and adopt an inclusive approach and respond effectively to students needs.

  • Support the launch of the Report & Support platform.
  • Work on several campaigns designed to raise awareness and the support available for a number of issues such bullying and harassment, bystander intervention, look after your mate and “are you ok” initiatives.
  • Produce social media messaging to highlight availability of help and support.
  • Conduct student focus groups to gain an insight from students on the effect of these issues and additional support requirements.
  • Undertake data analysis to identify trends to support the work of the Student Support & Experience team.
  • Build relationships with other key stakeholders across the university.
  • Must have passed level 5 and eligible to proceed to placement year.
  • Must be self-motivated, proactive, and professional, with a commitment to self-development.
  • Basic knowledge of mental health and wellbeing methods used for peer support.
  • Knowledge of gathering research.
  • Knowledge on how to run student events which include project management, marketing and promotion, services and evaluation.
