Description

To provide high quality administrative assistance for the university’s immigration compliance processes.

This role is full time working 37 hours a week.

Support the university’s immigration compliance activities through performing a range of administrative duties, including:
- Handling staff and student enquiries by email, telephone and in person
- Monitoring and checking visa and passport expiry dates, contacting students for up to date documents and monitoring responses accordingly to ensure university records are accurate
- Copying, validating and storing documentation to the student record system
- Scanning, uploading and distribution of Biometric Residence Permits (BRP) to students
- Assisting with registration/enrolment, including the registration of students during registration events, verifying, scanning and uploading their documents and responding to registration queries by email, over the telephone and face to face.
- Production of correspondence for students relating to confirmation of registration.
- Processing basic changes to student record as required
- Administrative duties such as filing, copying and standard correspondence.

Perform any other duties commensurate with the job grade, including providing assistance to other areas of the university administrative functions as reasonably required from time to time.
5 GCSE/O Levels or equivalent at
Grade C or above, including English and Maths

Extensive administrative experience, including data entry, composing correspondence, scanning and uploading of documents, management of high volumes of paperwork and production of reports

Customer service experience in an administrative environment

Experience giving advice and dealing with difficult customers

Competent user of Microsoft Office/Outlook packages, including Excel & Microsoft Teams

Awareness of data confidentiality, GDPR and the Data Protection Act

Strong organisational skills including sound time management and a proven ability of multi-task, prioritise own workload and an ability to cope under pressure

High levels of accuracy and strong attention to detail

Good interpersonal skills

Customer focussed approach

Adaptable and flexible approach to work

Cultural awareness and understanding of issues relating to international students

British Passport or Non-British passport with unlimited leave to remain in the UK
