Please note this Internship is available to SECOND and THIRD year students from The University of Northampton only.

You Press is an award-winning social enterprise that works with a diverse range of young people and media organisations to promote and explore the opinions of young people.

We believe in the power of words and stories to change lives for the better and our mission is to use creative arts and writing to empower people to find their voice and be heard.

The role of the Website Developer will be to work with our team to design & manage our website for ScribersHive.
•Researching current design trends.
•Implementing the new website designs.
•Designing the website's visual imagery and ensuring it is in line with ScribersHive’s branding.
•Keeping up-to-date with recent technological and software developments.
•Designing & managing a website that is user-friendly, effective, appealing and easy to navigate.
•Coding using a variety of software including WordPress.
•Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).
•Proofreading content and grammar and making changes where necessary.
•Testing the website to ensure it is working professionally.
•Creating a database for ScribersHive and building/coding a new website for ScribersHive.
•Creativity

•Knowledge of using WordPress (writing custom plugins and themes)
•PHP Intermediate
•HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
•Knowledge software/programming languages including HTML, JavaScript and others.

You Press Office (London) and Remote Working

Working hours are flexible given that work can be done off-site, but we would expect at least 1-2 days in the office to maintain good communication with you. This especially important with managing and working with our interns and volunteers.

Please note the start date for this role is flexible and can be negotiated.

The duration of this internship is for 100 hours worked over a 6 week period and will be £10 per hour.
