Description

We are looking to recruit an Electronics Design Engineer to join our client's growing team for high-performance electrical systems in the fields of robotics, automotive, aerospace, marine, utilities and renewable-energy.

The Electronics Design Engineer will see projects through from initial research and proposals to prototyping, design, development, testing, maintenance and manufacturing.

The role is to work on a full time basis working 37.5 hours per week. The working hours are 9:00-17:30 Monday to Friday. The role is temp to perm after a set duration working as a temporary member of staff.

Please note that this is a role with an external client and not within De Montfort University.

The rate of pay is based on a salary of £26,000. However, the pay is negotiable depending on experience and up to £35,000.
Disciplines include, but are not limited to: power delivery, low-power applications, energy-harvesting, motor control, radio communications, secure communications, secure storage, anti-tampering, real-time control, navigation, intelligent sensing, autonomy, networking, image/video, DSP.
This is not a graduate level role; we are seeking someone with experience outside of university, at the very least where recreational interest is shown and has developed a capability which demonstrates a deep knowledge and passion for the subject, preferably with at least 3 years’ experience in similar roles as the timescales and complexities regularly requires team members to have prior depth of knowledge to be able to keep pace.
• MSc/BSc degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant field
• Schematic design
• Mixed-signal PCB layout
• Produce designs with KiCAD, EAGLE, Altium, or equivalent EDA software
• Design to constraints
• Identify and mitigate failures
• Optimise for manufacturability/cost
• Estimate project timescales/cost
• Test, analyse and verify designs against requirements

Additional Skills:
Prior experience with:
• RF circuits
• High voltage / high power applications
• Motor control
• CANBus/RS485/RS422/Modbus/DeviceNet
• Lithium charging
• Solar harvesting
• VHDL
You will be required to work from the clients office Monday to Friday.
