Are you an ambitious researcher looking for your next challenge? Do you have expertise in small business research? Do you want to work on a research project alongside experienced entrepreneurial academics in order to take your research skills to a higher level?

The candidate will support a NESTA funded project, through the Creative Industries Policy and Evidence Centre, that aims to explore the migration challenges faced by small and medium enterprises in the Creative Industries when sourcing an international workforce. The candidate will undertake the collection of research data; through a variety of research methods, such as literature reviews, and research interviews. This may also be in different locations across the UK. A background in Creative Industries research is preferred but not essential. 

Undertake the collection of research data; through a variety of research methods, from literature reviews to qualitative research interviews and quantitative survey work.
Ensure that full and accurate documentation is kept for all work and ensure that all policies and processes, including quality assurance, are maintained and adhered to. Liaise with other researchers, both internal and external, and collaborate to execute project deliverables.
Contribute to the analysis of research data as directed, liaise regularly with the principal investigator about study progress, writing progress reports as required
Assist in the preparation and submission of papers for presentation at regional, national or international conferences and for publication in peer review journals. Prepare papers for steering groups and other bodies.  Present information on research progress and outcomes to bodies supervising research.
Carry out administrative tasks related to the delivery of the research, planning work to agreed specifications, time and quality standards.
Deal with problems that may affect the achievement of research objectives and deadlines.
Maintain high standards of academic and commercial confidentiality.  Comply with relevant protocols regarding data confidentiality and security.
Attend and contribute to research/subject group meetings.
Educated to MSc level in Business or equivalent
Experience in a research oriented environment or equivalent
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Able to manage research and administrative activities and to balance competing pressures of research and administrative demands and deadlines
Proficiency in the English Language
Able to build contacts and participate in internal and external networks for the exchange of information and collaboration.
Self-manage and motivated, with minimum supervision
