Description

We are looking to recruit a Math's tutor who can teach Mathematics up to A level standard.

Hours of work: 25 hours per week, Term Time only (Maternity Cover starting 31st August 2021, with additional training days tbc week commencing 23rd August 2021 and ending 15th October 2021)

Reports to: Head of Teaching and Learning

The role is located in Leicester and you will be required to work from the office teaching Math's in a mixture of online classes and face to face to the students.

Purpose of the Role:
To deliver an outstanding level of tutoring to students online for KS2 - KS5

Responsibilities:
Teaching and Managing Pupil Learning
? identifying clear teaching objectives, content, lesson structures and sequences appropriate to the subject matter and the pupils being taught
? setting appropriate and demanding expectations for pupils’ learning and motivation
? setting clear targets for pupils' learning, building on prior attainment and considering each pupil as an individual
? ensuring effective teaching of whole classes, groups and individuals so that teaching objectives are met, momentum and challenge are maintained, and best use is made of teaching time
? using teaching methods which keep pupils engaged, including stimulating pupils’ intellectual curiosity, effective questioning and response, clear presentation and good use of resources
? setting high expectations for pupils' behaviour, establishing and maintaining a good standard of discipline through well-focused teaching and through positive and productive relationships

Monitoring and Assessing Pupil Progress
? marking and monitoring pupils’ class and homework providing constructive weekly feedback, setting targets for pupils’ progress
? assessing how well learning objectives have been achieved and use this assessment for future teaching
? maintaining full records of attendance, homework, attainment, achievement and examinations for pupils taught
? Daily interaction with students via our online TCS iON platform.
Communication with Parents
? providing informative reports to parents
? liaising with Spark Centre staff to resolve customer queries
? Periodic parents’ evenings

Qualification
• Masters-level qualification or comparable learning experience and/or relevant professional qualification.
• Qualified teacher status (desirable).
Experience
• Recent and relevant experience in teaching. With KS2 to A-Level or equivalent level.
• Recent and relevant experience of working successfully within a school.
Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge and understanding of the National • Curriculum requirements at KS2-KS5
• Excellent subject knowledge.
• Ability to work collaboratively within the business.
• High level people skills including communication, interpersonal and intrapersonal skills.
• Ability to work under own initiative, to identify work priorities and manage own work to meet targets and deadlines.
