To steward shows and sell programmes, merchandise and ice creams during performance times. To assist in the setup, delivery and break down of activity and events across the differing spaces within Warwick Arts Centre. Ensure an accessible, safe environment for our customers. Supporting all Performance Stewards in delivering the very best in visitor experience.
  • To perform the duties outlined in the volunteer role description
  • Performing a variety of roles including seat moves, cloakroom, meet and greet and parking duties as needed
  • To sell programmes, merchandise, ice cream and other ancillary sales as required
  • To tidy up the auditoria after shows and check for any lost property
  • To assist with Warwick Arts Centre accessible blue badge parking across campus
  • To provide extra assistance to any visitors who may require/request it including transit seat and stair lift operation
  • To answer any questions and queries from customers in a professional and efficient manner. To use the SPARKLE customer service model to consistently deliver exceptional customer service to all visitors to Warwick Arts Centre
  • To meet coaches and direct or escort parties safely to the Arts Centre
  • To retract and extend the bleaching system within the Butterworth hall as required
  • To set up and dismantle various rooms across Warwick Arts Centre in accordance with operational needs
  • To act as cloakroom steward before, during and after each performance when needed
  • To de-brief at the end of the shift and pass on any relevant information to the Duty Manager
  • Attend regular training sessions in order to fulfill the role of Events Steward
  • To assist the wider front of house team in ad hoc duties and tasks
  • To comprehensively understand and operate within the Warwick Arts Centre health and safety procedures
  • To represent Warwick Arts Centre and the Front of House team in a positive way both within the building and when not on duty
  • To promote and comply with Warwick Arts Centre policies on equal opportunities, dress code and health and safety, both in the delivery of service and in the treatment of others


  • To have good communication skills
  • To have a proven track record of delivering excellent Customer Service
  • To have an understanding of Health and Safety policies
  • To be able to prioritise tasks when under pressure
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • To be reliable and punctual
  • To have a flexible and adaptable approach to fulfilling the duties of the role
  • To have good team-working skills
  • To have good attention to detail


  • Previous experience as a performance steward
  • To have Sales and/or cash handling experience
  • To have a working knowledge of the Warwick University Campus

Dress Code - Black trousers or skirt with sensible black footwear. Uniform top is provided.
