Description

Our client is looking to expand their team of talented professionals. They are a small but fast-growing company, focused on building and supporting solutions for merchants on the Magento Commerce platform.

They are looking for confident, self-motivated individuals who work well in team environments. You should be comfortable working alongside developers, clients and designers alike to deliver relevant and reliable solutions with attention to detail being a key focus. You’ll have experience building object oriented applications and enjoy the challenge of turning functional requirements into working code that is robust and well tested. You’ll be comfortable working with databases and enjoy the challenge of getting to grips with the Magento framework and mastering all it’s possibilities.

You’re passionate about new technologies and the opportunities they unlock, whilst being pragmatic when it comes to selecting the right tools for the job and ensuring the performance of the pages you create is always top priority. You'll be joining a great team, managed by experienced and knowledgeable individuals, receive regular training and the opportunity to work on exciting and complex projects.

  • Turn functional requirements into stable working solutions that meet specification 
  • See-through and take ownership of various Magento 2 development pieces/projects 
  • Undertake code reviews of your peers work and resolve issues and conflicts on your own work 
  • Assist with decision making on appropriate solutions and creation of specifications where required Provide estimates and ensure work stays within pre-agreed budgets 
  • Promote quality standards and processes and work with other developers to achieve these through regular code reviews 
  • Communicate regularly with team members to provide an understanding of technical requirements, plans and dependencies 
  • Incredible attention to detail 
  • A good understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript 
  • A solid understanding of PHP / general programming concepts (variables, conditional statements, arrays, loops etc.) and object oriented programming principles 
  • Comfortable working on the command-line
  • Basic understanding of MySQL (or similar) 
  • Experience using git within a team environment and platforms, such as Github Desirable Skills 
  • A solid understanding and experience of JavaScript and frameworks/libraries utilised in Magento 2, such as RequireJS, jQuery UI widgets and KnockoutJS 
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and design patterns such as Model-View-Controller (MVC) and SOLID principles A solid understanding of MySQL and experience with Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) 
  • Experience working with/developing for Magento 2 or frameworks such as Zend (Laminas) or Symfony
  • Advanced command line experience
  • Know how to use/comfortable working with composer, XDebug 
  • Understanding of PSR standards 
  • Advanced git usage, such as pull requests, merging and conflict resolution
