Description

Our client is looking to expand their team of talented professionals. They are a small but fast-growing company, focused on building and supporting solutions for merchants on the Magento Commerce platform.

We're looking for confident, self-motivated individuals who work well in team environments. You should be comfortable working alongside developers, clients and designers alike to deliver relevant and reliable solutions with attention to detail being a key focus. You’ll have experience creating responsive, mobile-first web experiences that leverage the power of modern browsers whilst ensuring support across devices. You enjoy ensuring designs are re-created to pixel perfection whilst creating incredible user experiences to make our merchants’ sites stand out from the crowd.

You’re passionate about new technologies and the opportunities they unlock, whilst being pragmatic when it comes to selecting the right tools for the job and ensuring the performance of the pages you create is always top priority. You'll be joining a great team, managed by experienced and knowledgeable individuals, receive regular training and the opportunity to work on exciting and complex projects

  • Accurately recreate provided design assets to functional responsive web pages adhering to coding standards 
  • See-through and take ownership of entire Magento 2 frontend implementations from start to finish 
  • Undertake code reviews of your peers work and resolve issues and conflicts on your own work 
  •  Assist with decision making on appropriate solutions and creation of specifications where required 
  • Provide estimates and ensure work stays within pre-agreed budgets 
  • Promote quality standards and processes and work with other developers to achieve these through regular code reviews 
  • Communicate regularly with team members to provide an understanding of technical requirements, plans and dependencies
  • Incredible attention to detail 
  • A good understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Competent writing valid and semantic HTML5 and modern CSS as part of theming real-world projects 
  • Basic understanding/experience of Adobe Photoshop (to access provided design assets) 
  • Basic command-line usage 
  • A basic understanding of PHP / general programming concepts (variables, conditional statements, arrays, loops etc.) 
  • Experience using git within a team environment and platforms, such as Github Desirable Skills 
  • Commercial experience with pre-processors (SASS/LESS etc.) 
  • Commercial experience with responsive web design, media queries, 'mobile-first' approach, JavaScript and jQuery 
  •  A solid understanding and experience of JavaScript and frameworks/libraries utilised in Magento 2, such as RequireJS, jQuery UI widgets and KnockoutJS 
  • Experience with emerging technologies such as React/Vue, PostCSS and Tailwind CSS 
  • Comfortable working on the command-line, in particular with tools/libraries such as npm, gulp, grunt, yarn etc. 
  • Advanced git usage, such as pull requests, merging and conflict resolution
