SGO Project Officer
Canterbury Christ Church University
6 hours per week, term time only
The Student Green Office (SGO) sits alongside the University's Sustainability Team and is a student-led initiative in its 8th year. The SGO's aim is to engage students with sustainability: environment, wellbeing, social justice and equality at Christ Church, with reference to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The roles will encompass a mixture of events, campaigns and communications (social media and marketing) work, centered around key areas of the university-wide 'Us In The World' project and the SDGs. The SGO may engage students through wellbeing, activism, biodiversity, food, environmental action, engagement with the local community etc
We're looking for candidates who are keen and friendly communicators, confident chatting to new people and who can demonstrate engaging written communication skills to produce blogs and social media content that other students will connect with. We also expect candidates to have considered how their experiences will help them fulfil the role, and to demonstrate an informed interest in sustainability. We particularly welcome applications from BAME students and other underrepresented groups.
Interviews will take place on Friday 8th October.
PLEASE NOTE: this role is open to current CCCU students only. Please include your course and year of study in your covering letter. Roles comprise 160 hours max between September 2021 and June 2022.
