Skilled Craft / Manufacturing operative
Our client are based on the outskirts of Canterbury and make saddles for horses. Their customers include Olympic level riders and we export worldwide. We are considered a leader within our industry in terms of innovation and quality.
We are looking for someone to work in in a number of departments and who enjoys variety on a day to day basis and likes getting “things done”.
The position will involve a number of different aspects so you will be using sewing machines, industrial riveters and staplers, knives and glues.
You will also be plaiting materials and using your hands to form the materials in the correct shapes before stitching.
You will need an eye for detail, patience and enjoy “fiddly” work, working to specific dimensions. It helps if you are good at recognising shapes. A dress making background could be useful as would other craft type skills and backgrounds.
Full training is given and you will work with other people but will be fully responsible for your own work.
The process: If successful after interview you will be invited to spend a few hours with the company. This is to see if the company live up to your expectations, that the location is viable (must have own transport) and that you fit in with the company culture.
Hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm. 40 hours per week.
Paid Holiday: 21 days plus bank holidays
